OK, I’d better  explain what why this is important. I’ve struggled with my weight all my life.  My mom had a cuddly figure and I do too.  At high school I was a sucker for quick weight loss diets but none worked.  (They never do, do they?)  Then I went through the usual cycle of eating, feeling guilty, looking for weight losing tips, dieting, eating, feeling guilty and so on.

Anyway last year my best friend Lisa was admitted to hospital but the doctor said that her weight was going to be a complication and I thought “I have to do something for the sake of my kids”.  So I asked myself how do I lose weight? I did some internet research and found that diet alone just doesn’t work – you must exercise as well.  So I took up jogging.  (Jogging!!  Me!!! My husband didn’t believe it!!)

I found jogging and dieting at the same time really hard, with the kids and a job.  But at first it was worth it and I lost some weight.  It was so cool!!   But then it stopped. I wasn’t cheating (it makes me so mad when they say you must be cheating!) but I was doing all the right things and nothing was happening.

How do I lose weight?

Okay, so I’m moving on from the negative thinking and onto the positive thinking.  I’m gonna do something about this.  I’ve been surfing the net and there’s a whole bunch of information there … that boils down to eat less and so some jogging… well that’s what I’ve been doing!!! Duh!!  (I’m not gonna post my weight here every day or anything, that’s too boring, but I will say that I’ve lost NOTHING since last week AGAIN!!  And no, I’m not cheating.   I hate that, there are even some websites when you look under why am I not losing weight and it says “well, are you cheating just a little bit” well I’m not.

I’m not sure if this is true but I have found some places that say that the jogging is the problem – it can even make you fatter.  That’s good news because I hate jogging lol!   Apparently it just makes your body think “hmm, better store up some fat in case she goes jogging again” which is no good.

I just wish somebody would just tell me what’s going on.  A nice simple explanation of what’s going on and what I can do about it.

And I’m gonna find it!

PS – I have found some good advice – forget weight, what matters is burning fat.  It’s the fat we want rid off.  I read somewhere that you can burn fat while you sleep but that’s gotta be too good to be true!!

Why am I not losing weight?

I’m doing all the stuff they’ve told me to do – eating less, jogging 3-4 times a week (well okay I kinda scuttle) – and I lost a bit of weight at first but now nothing is happening.  THis is gonna be my blog because I’m determined to find out what’s been happening to me and I’m going to tell you!!
